Introduction:
WinUtilities is a collection of tools designed to improve computer speed, and perform maintenance tasks to keep your computer healthy.
WinUtilities consists of features that will defrag your hard-drive, repair the registry, optimize system settings, remove privacy compromising data such as temporary internet files, and much more which will be explained in the features section.
Ease of Use:
WinUtilities user interface is unappealing, but yet simple to interact-with. It is straightforward to use the features of this program, everything is clearly labelled, and uncluttered making every task a non-brainer. However, if you are stuck it does come with a help file, or you can email their support team.
Features Explained:
- You can recover certain files that have been deleted
- Removes those files unnecessary files that clog up your system
- Searches the registry for problems and corrects them
- Allows adjustment of applications that launch when the computers switches-on
- File splitter that makes a file smaller by separating it into several pieces, this can save space, and you can rejoin the file fragments to restore the original file
- File eraser that can permanently delete files. This is especially useful for sensitive data.
- Application Password protector that allows you to prevent access to a application unless a specified password is entered

- Provides shortcuts to launching windows utilities that already come with the Windows Operating System
Conclusion:
WinUtilities is a useful program as it comes with a great-many tools, and that alone makes it a valid candidate for downloading and taking it for a spin.
However, it may have a large tool-set, but my testing revealed only an average result when it comes to registry cleaning, as it missed a portion of the registry errors. The price could also be a little cheaper, some of its competitors that I have ranked higher, are either cheaper or have more to offer, or both – so keep that in mind. If you want to see more system optimization software that I have reviewed, click here.
In short, the registry cleaner component is a little weak, but it does come with large cohort of tools, many very useful. Therefore, should you get WinUtilities? If you need a registry cleaner, I would look elsewhere – but if you need a large number of maintenance and speedup tools, then maybe take it for a spin around the block.
