Sunbelt CounterSpy Review
- Sleek and Sexy Interface
- Cost Less than $20
- It’s won lots of Awards
- Scored Positive in tests
- Every customer support option
The online community seems to unanimously place CounterSpy in the top 3 or higher for antispyware. CNET gave it the editor’s choice award and said “…CounterSpy comes out on top…” Even my tests are positive. Its interface is sleek and sexy and it costs less than $20 dollars, and if that’s not brilliant enough, it has all the customer support features. HowToMakeComputerFaster.net gives it a million thumbs up… it’s brilliant.
Ease of Use:
CounterSpy interface is simple and sexy in my opinion. There are 4 mains sections called:
- Overview: shows a overview of the programs security status.
- Scan: this is where you can view scan results, schedule scans or run an on-demand scan.
- Manage: lets you manage certain settings and infected files.
- Tools: access extra tools, like history cleaner.
CounterSpy not only has a small memory footprint, it’s the best antispyware software you can get for under $20.
When it comes to features CounterSpy is an antispyware / antimalware program, it protects you from spyware, adware, viruses, Trojans, rootkits and other nasty malware.
Real-Time Protection: Once it’s installed it goes to work automatically protecting you from security threats.
On-Demand Scanning: You can also choose to do deep scan that tracks down any existing threats or any that got through the real-time protection net.
Heuristic Detection: CounterSpy protects your from yet unknown threats, it looks for patterns when scanning files and if the file pattern matches characteristics of malicious software it will take the appropriate action to protect you.
Unlimited Home License: This means instead of having only a license to install on 1 or 3 computers, you can install it on as many computers in your home as you like.
Signature Detection: CounterSpy has a database of known malware files and when it scans your system it uses this database to check against files on your computer, if a match is found then it disinfects, quarantines or deletes the malicious file.

Counterspy is one of the best AntiSpyware programs I have come across. The world over it is almost always in peoples top 3 and more often than not gets spot 1 in the antispyware category. It has all the customer support options you could dream about, it’s easy to use and costs $19.95. I can’t fault this program. It comes highly recommended.
